What is a LifeCare Coach and how can you help me?

As your LifeCare Coach, I work in partnership with you to improve your life and that of your loved one and to solve the prevailing problems and issues.

I’ll ask you questions, help you look at your situation from a different perspective, with compassion offer sense and sensibility, encourage, guide and support you and provide some very practical solutions that can be implemented by you to change your situation.

Only you can choose the solutions that are right for you and your loved one. Together we’ll create a plan that addresses your unique situation. Always remember that ”a problem shared is a problem halved”. Read more.

Why Would I Need Caregiver Coaching?

No one prepares you for caring for aging parents. Elderly parents can suddenly become “daughter deaf” when it comes to talking about failing health, changes in living situations, and medical, financial and legal issues.

Caregiving is unknown territory and each family situation is unique.  Working with me can help you and your families identify and resolve the situation more quickly, saving time, energy and financial resources.

Who do you work with?

I usually work with adult children and families who are concerned about and wanting to help an aging loved one. I also work with aging parents directly and those that are already in a caregiving situation with a loved one along with others that have a caring interest in helping, such as spouses, extended family members, neighbors and friends,

What type of situations do you help with?

First, we’ll work together to resolve the immediate issues. These may include:

  • Crisis Management
  • Living alone and no longer able to safely maintain independence
  • Health changes that are being ignored including memory changes
  • You, or, the direct caregiver is showing signs of caregiver burnout
  • Medical, financial and legal paperwork not being in place
  • Problems associated with socialization

Then we’ll turn our attention to the bigger picture and longer term solutions by developing a LifeCare plan for your loved one. Read more about what we talk about.

How Does Caregiver Coaching Work?

Caregiver coaching is a partnership between you and I based on need, trust and open and honest communication. We’ll work together to

  • Define and understand the problems and issues
  • Explore, find and implement applicable solutions
  • Develop a LifeCare Plan to resolve future problems or issues
  • Develop action steps and a critical path
  • Plan support to keep you moving forward

Caregiver tele-coaching  takes place one-on-one over the telephone and e-mails via the Internet There may also be assignments that you will do independently between the phone sessions.

What Are Your Terms & Conditions

  • All pricing is expressed in Canadian dollars
  • Coaching Package fees are due on agreement and are payable monthly in advance. We offer a 15% discount for fees prepaid for 3 months
  • Crisis Management and Regular Coaching fees are due on receipt of services
  • Retainer fees are due in advance and are invoiced monthly
  • Coaching sessions subject to availability at time of booking

How Do I Pay You?

I accept payment via e-mail Interac money transfer; bank transfer and cheques (please allow 5 days for clearance - 2 weeks for cheques drawn on non-Canadian banks

What if I miss a session?

Cancellations 24 hours prior to the scheduled session may be re-scheduled, Cancellations made within 24 hours are non refundable

How do I Know if Coaching With you is Right for me?

I offer a FREE” Care To Be Great” 1-on-1 30 minute tele-coaching session with me personally. It helps us get to know one another and the circumstances that brought us together and for you to decide if we’re a “fit” and that this approach is right for you.
